I was born in Northwich, Cheshire in the United Kingdom and moved to the United States in October of 1995. After living and working in Washington DC for 4 years, I moved to Denver, Colorado where I became a US Citizen and met my wife Molly. We have two wonderful kids, and currently live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.
By profession, I am in the technology industry, and have over 19 years success leading, architecting and building commercial software systems. I am currently a senior executive with a worldwide software company, and manage over 40 outstanding individuals in the groups of Engineering, QA and Technical Writing.
In my limited spare time I develop software for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. I have made some code snippets available for free here

During the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries England was ravaged by religious conflict. The newly found passionate fervour of Cromwellianism and the Church rejected all nonbelievers, and the Roman Church still fought to retain its status. Cornwall was strongly Methodist and fervently loyal to the crown of England. The surname Slade was amongst the many who were freely "encouraged" to migrate to Ireland, or to the "colonies."
The Slade family motto is “Fidus et audax” which translates to “faithful and bold”. In North America, early immigrants bearing the Slade family name, or a spelling variation of the surname include George Slade who settled in Virginia in 1654, and Edward Slade who settled in Virginia in 1670.
